Follow the host environment
ApiLensOptions.Capture left null follows the host. Development uses redacted SQL text. Every other environment keeps timings, counts, status codes, and trace ids, and drops SQL text after the N+1 grouping.
| Development | Production | |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | On, unless EnableDashboard is false | Off |
| SQL text | Stored after literal redaction | Dropped after grouping |
| Parameter values | Never read | Never read |
| Request and response bodies | Never stored | Never stored |
| HTTP query strings | Not stored (host and status only) | Not stored |
| Exception text | Type name only | Type name only |
What is never stored
- SQL parameter values. The listener may store a parameter count. It never reads the values.
- Request bodies and response bodies.
- HTTP query strings. Outbound calls keep the host and status code.
- Exception messages and stack traces. The report stores
Exception.GetType().Nameonly.
In Development, SQL text is stored after literal redaction. String literals become '?' and numeric literals become ?. Production runs that same grouping, then clears the command text on the stored operations.
